You're sitting outside when you notice a little bug crawling across your shoe. After a moment the bug stands up, teetering back and forth for a moment before gaining her balance. She doesn't seem to notice you, her attention entirely focused on the single pea she's holding in her hands. She's looking at that pea like it is the most amazing thing in the entire world. You lean closer to get a better look and she notices your shadow, turning to look up at you.

Before you can say anything tears start welling up out of her wide eyes and she cowers down away from you, clutching her pea and making small, terrified noises.
