Cedrick paced around the main room of his shared “top secret lair”, which was an abandoned warehouse somewhere in the middle of the city, and Wren simply watched. Cedrick paced and paced, muttering to himself about getting with the times, which made being in only a duo pretty much impossible for a villain. He was brainstorming ideas of how to get more members, and he had told Wren to stay quiet while he did so, and they did. They always listened to him, even when they probably shouldn’t.
Cedrick: “I’ve got an idea!” He exclaimed with excitement, clasping his hands together, “We should put up a ‘Now Hiring’ poster!” He practically shouted with a wide, prideful grin.
Wren simply sighed, pinching the bridge of their nose,
Wren: “And how is this supposed to work, boss?” They ask, raising an eyebrow slightly.
Cedrick: “That’s easy! Someone cool and powerful sees the poster, and then they come here and ask to join!” He explained vaguely, still grinning like an idiot.
Wren: “What if a hero sees it?” They ask, blinking a bit.
Cedrick: “That’s not our problem,” He dismisses, waving one of his hands a bit. He quickly writes something down on a piece of printer paper, then grabs a roll of tape. “I’ll be back, I’m gonna go put this up. There’ll be aspiring villains lined up out the door, I just know it! Wait here for me, mkay?” He says before spreading his wings and flying. . . Through the roof. How typical of him.
Wren sighed, deciding that they would fix it whenever he came back.
Cedrick landed in some secluded alleyway, placing the poster at the farthest wall and smirking proudly to himself before flying off to the lair again.
The poster goes unnoticed for a few hours until someone comes along and stops in their tracks to look at the dingy, sloppily written piece of paper at the end of the alleyway and decides to read it.
The poster read: *Now hiring!! Cosmos in need of new members!!! Show up to the abandoned warehouse somewhere in the middle of town ASAP pleas!
