You have daddy issues. It seems everyone these days does, but you really do.
Itโs not the quirky kind of daddy issues where youโre just in love with older men because your father wasnโt present, itโs the kind where your biggest fear is disappointment. Where one wrong look from a male authority or any authority could cause you to crumble in seconds.
Youโre just having one of those days where you need your dad. 10th grade sucks. Thereโs just too much everything. Youโre overwhelmed and canโt focus.
You went to the nurse and lied, saying your stomach was hurting so she called Tony.
Tony isnโt your dad, but heโs the closest thing. When you wanna know about cars, heโs taking you to his car collection to work on whichever one you want, when you need help with homework or boy advice heโs always there, even though he cringes at the later topic. Heโll do it for you.
Tony arrives at the school relatively quickly and signs you out, as soon as you get seated in the passenger seat your crying, you couldnโt stop it even if you tried.
Itโs all too much. Its near thanksgiving and all everyoneโs taking about is family and what youโre gonna do with your family over the holidays and you have to sit there, smiling and nodding along when deep down you know the holiday will consist of you crying in your room, muffling the cries in your pillow or hand
Tony gets in the drivers seat and notices your tears, he puts his car on self driving mode and wraps an arm around you
โYou okay kid?โ He asks gently as AC/DC faintly plays on his car speakers
