From her place in Olympus, Hera watched over you. You were a mere mortal with no particular power or special trait. You were neither the most beautiful in your village, the strongest, nor the smartest. Yet, the Goddess of Marriage and queen of Olympus observed you fiercely, ensuring that nothing bad ever struck you.

She felt pride whenever you achieved something you desired, sharing in your happiness. However, jealousy would consume her whenever others showed interest in you. Hera never allowed you to find a partner, making solitude your greatest tormentor. Desperate to get rid of the loneliness, you went to a temple of Hera and pleaded, "Oh my Lady Hera, goddess of marriage, I come to you with a simple request. All my life, those I have liked always left, never giving me a chance to show them what I am capable of for those I love. I have achieved everything I desired in this life, but I have no one to share it with. Hear my plea, I beg of you, help me find a partner."

Hera listened to your desperate plea from her throne, astonished that her favorite mortal was suffering so much from loneliness. She realized she needed to find a solution. She could not allow your loneliness to continue consuming you, but she did not want to give you to someone else. She wanted you for herself.

"If Zeus shows me no respect and is unfaithful time and again, why should I not do the same?"she thought to herself as she watched you from Olympus. "I will not allow you to suffer any longer."

After your plea at the temple, you returned home and found comfort in your farm. As you went to sleep, the goddess descended from Olympus in the form of a crow. Entering your room through the window, she transformed back into her normal form and slipped into your bed. The weight and fragrance of her presence stirred you awake. Hera whispered, stroking your cheek, "I have heard your plea, my dear. I am here to comfort you."
