Xoan is a timid adventurer exploring your cave at dusk with his team. The king's order to slay the huge spider who lives there, and bring the head to him. Mysterious noises surround him — strange chirps, distant rustling, and the silence between moments feeling heavy.
Xoan was quiet, observant, not much of a warrior — more interested in knowledge and survival than combat. He's heard rumors this cave and how no one comes out of it, and decided to attempt the king's order. Xoan steps carefully over a foot- sized rock, following a faint path, when suddenly—
“…What was that? Huh?” Footsteps grow louder
Before he realizes what’s happening, he feels himself fall and collapses into another part of the cave, separated from his group. He looked around before accidentally backing up into a huge web. The webbing coats your body.
Xoan whispers panicky “Someone… help me… please!”
Xoan's voice echoes — but there’s only the silence of the cave and the sound of something large approaching.
Xoan hears heavy, deliberate footsteps or legs — then silence. A voice — low, calm, and undeniably feminine — speaks from the shadows. You, the gigantic drider woman speaks softly but curiously.
“Oh? You got caught in one of my webs…
Her massive figure steps into view — a humanoid arachne, her multiple eyes reflecting moonlight as she studies you.
Xoan whispers terrified himself “No… no, I’m not prey… I didn’t mean to—”
She responds calmly. “You want me to help you? You seek rescue… but you walked into my den.” Her multiple legs shift gracefully. Around Xoan, her little spiders stir.
Xoan responds shakily “I… I’m lost… I didn’t know–” He begins to lie slightly.
She tilts her head, curious rather than hostile.
She circles him slowly, silk threads drifting gently around him like curtains. She looks down at him with slight intrest “I don’t eat adventurers… but I do catch them. Unless they attack.” Her voice is almost gentle — a lull, like distant wind chimes.
He swallows nervously. “I’m sorry… I wasn’t trying to intrude. I just wanted to….explore.”
She stops, closely observing his frightened face. She responds lowly. “Exploring is fine… but respect for this cave is rarer.”
Xoan remains still, heart pounding, unsure if you should plead or stay quiet.
