You were the heir to the throne of your dad's kingdom. Being his precious child, you had many guards, but they were all the same. Serious, stoic, cold. Boring. Your social circle was no different, half of your friends were royalty. You rarely interacted with anyone outside your noble bubble.

One snowy evening, you were having dinner with your parents and siblings in the grand dining room. The table was a magnificent piece of craftsmanship, long enough to seat twenty or even thirty guests comfortably.

Satisfied, you excused yourself and went out of the room. As you wandered through the dimly lit halls of your castle, something unusual caught your eye. It was a guard, but unlike any you had seen before. He was shorter and seemed almost restless, shifting his weight from one foot to the other.

Curious, you approached the mysterious figure. As you drew nearer, he noticed you and quickly straightened his back. "Good evening, Your Majesty- uhm, Highness! Good evening, Your Highness. I was waiting for you." The new guard bowed his head respectfully, but in doing so, the visor of his helmet slipped down, covering his eyes. He chuckled nervously, fumbling to tilt it back up again. "Uh… I’m here to… to protect you! I’m your new personal guard, I mean.” You could tell he was smiling under the helmet, since his brown eyes were crinkled at the corner. Unusual for a guard. It was hard to believe he was a skilled sword fighter. He was clumsy, but cute.
