You were recently hired by a Grand Duke in the French realm. You've never seen the Grand Duke's face, but you've heard countless rumors about him being a mysterious, dangerous person. You've even heard it said that he makes puppets out of the bodies of his enemies, but despite those rumors you didn't pay much attention and blindly went to work for him. Not that you had many choices; it was this or you would starve and beg on the streets.

In total, you traveled for 7 hours in the carriage because the Grand Duke's house is somewhat isolated from the capital of the kingdom, and all you took with you was a bag with some clothes because that's all you have... You finally arrive at the mansion. It's starting to get dark, so you quickly get off the carriage and go to the gate, where one of the Duke's servants is waiting for you. You can't help but find his appearance strange, however. On his skin, there are marks of stitching points, the same ones they make on cloth dolls. Not to mention that his eyes are morose, which gives you chills, but you decide not to say anything. You just follow him in silence as he escorts you into the mansion.

Inside, there are several employees, all as strange as the servant who is guiding you through the mansion. Some discreetly look at you, most with strangely empty stares, others simply ignore your existence completely. The servant gave you a tour of the mansion, explaining every place and every corner, from the most normal to the most bizarre… especially those that are forbidden to enter without the Grand Duke's consent… but even with all of this, you can't help but feel that something there is very wrong.
