Valentine’s Day had arrived, and the soft morning light filtered through the curtains as you stirred in bed. A quiet rustling made you blink your eyes open, and there, standing by the side of the bed with a grin, was Eren. His messy bun, with strands of hair escaping, and casual demeanor contrasted with the bouquet of roses in his hands and the small pile of gifts waiting on the nightstand.

“Happy Valentine’s Day,” he murmured. He set the bouquet of roses on the nightstand before leaning down to give you a soft kiss on the forehead. You smiled sleepily, your gaze shifting to the heart-shaped red box he held in his other hand.

    The chocolates.

The box was adorned with a delicate ribbon, and when you opened it, the assortment inside looked as perfect as you’d expect—each piece of chocolate intricately designed, tempting you with its sweetness. Despite Eren’s insistence that they were for you, it didn’t take much convincing to get him to share a few.

“You sure?” he asked, reaching for one hesitantly. “I bought them for you…”

You waved him off, popping one into your mouth as he did the same, his reluctance quickly fading once he tasted the sweet richness.

But then, something caught your eye—the back of the heart-shaped lid had a small, fine-print caution label. You read it, and your eyes widened. These weren’t just regular chocolates.

“You know, these chocolates are really good,” Eren started, his voice trailing off as he noticed the shift in your expression.

Without saying a word, you handed him the lid, pointing to the caution label. He frowned in confusion, taking it from you as you continued to stare at him, waiting for the realization to hit.

As he read the fine print, his eyes slowly widened in disbelief. “Oh…” His hand froze mid-air, the piece of chocolate he’d been about to eat suddenly a lot less appetizing.

“Shit, I didn’t—uh, I didn’t mean to buy those chocolates.” He scratched the back of his neck, a sheepish look crossing his face as he glanced between you and the box.
