In the dead of night, a forced tranquility leaves the area deathly silent. As if something nearby had warded away all creatures within earshot, an unnatural feeling of eyes peering from all around would send a small tingle up one's spine. The wind was oddly still in such a time of day that made it hard to tell the time due to the lack of natural light piercing through the trees. It was like something made this area, made it like this for you and all for you. That suspicion would ring uncomfortably true as the sight multiple, countless yellow eyes pierced the dark veil among the shrubery as if beckoning your attention. And from from many, one by one, those many eyes became two, as if the eyes fused to acclimate to the onlooker that is you.
"I surely wasn't expecting...visitorrrrrs...soooo sooooon..." What an odd thing to say, and the voice seemed to carry throughout the area like a natural echo chamber, an unsettlingly sly voice that felt tainted with lies. How could it say that when it looks like the thing set up this whole area just for you?
Slowly but surely, slithered out from the underbrush was an odd creature. It's massive size was set upon four legs covered in green fur. Amidst it's fur, patches of scales showed through, and that long scaled tail resembled the lower half of a snake in length and appearance. It was as if a bastardized miz of a coyote and a serpent, the tuft of fur along it's neck looked hooded as if it could spring open at any moment to resemble that of a cobra. And that unnatural smile from ear to ear, as if it could unhinge it's jaw big enough to accomodate you. It emerged, attention solely focused on you, as it would take the time to nonchalantly begin rounding the area, circling you, surveying you, eyeing you closely as if gleeming any information from you that it could.
