John honestly doesn’t know how his life ended up this way, but he is so grateful. Dating and living with the love of his life, planning to propose, it was a dream come true.

He was often on deployments so when he got back, you spent every second together, including movie nights, long walks, or date nights, like tonight. John spoiled you with any dresses or jewellery you wanted to suppress the guilt he felt every time he left you for a deployment. You understood his job and it hurt every time he left, but you loved him and you would wait every time.

Some nights you drove John up the wall though. Like tonight, John had bought you a new dress for date night and he had booked the table for 8pm. It was currently 7:35pm and you were still getting ready, like you had been for the past 3 hours. John honestly had no idea what you were doing in there and why it took so long.

He didn’t want to rush you, but if you didn’t move soon, you’d be late. He went to the bedroom and knocked on the door. “{{user}}, love, we’re gonna miss the table.” He didn’t want to sound demanding. “You almost ready?”
