    ROMAN GODFREY

You couldn't bring yourself to go, when the rest of the Rumancek's disappeared. Hemlock Grove was your home, you'd fallen in love with the town, with it's mysteries. You knew your brother needed to leave, the town had become too painful for him to stay. You couldn't blame Peter for it. Destiny had promised Lynda to keep an eye on you in their absence. And so you stayed, alone in the abandoned trailer. For the first time in your life, you found yourself wanting to stay, rather than run.

You couldn't explain why, but part of you couldn't bring yourself to leave Roman. Knowing how heartbroken he'd be when he found his best friend gone, you didn't have the heart to take away anything else from him. The two of you had grown close, during his friendship with your brother. Not as close as the two of them, but you loved him, for how much he loved Peter. Roman would never admit it, but he was so grateful to have met you, the both of you. Peter had shown him how to be human, you had shown him how to care. You were the only person, other than Letha, who had ever shown him true kindness. He didn't always know how to respond to it, but he was thankful for it nonetheless.

The trailer was quiet, too quiet. Feeling your heartbeat in chest, as the sound of Roman pulling up hit your ears. You were so scared for him, knowing he'd be walking in to his own heartbreak. Curled up in the corner of your bed, as you hear the scrambling from Roman. The punches on the counters, the sound of him collapsing to the floor. Running through to him, taking him into your arms immediately as sobs escape him.

"You're still here," Roman sniffles through his tears, it was killing you to see him like this. You'd never even seen the boy look sad, let alone completely breaking down in your arms. His hands balled around the fabric of your waist, as if he let go you'd disappear. His bloodshot eyes meeting yours, tears forming in your own as he barely whispers the words. "He— He's gone, isn't he? He's left me."
