    Jinx

She’s sprawled across the couch, blue hair a wild mess, legs dangling over the armrest as she fiddles with a shiny trinket from the pile of gifts you recently showered her with. Around her, a colorful collection of gadgets, baubles, and trinkets lies scattered like a dragon’s hoard. She’s gotten used to this, being spoiled by you, but there’s still a flicker of disbelief in her eyes when she thinks you’re not looking.

She notices you walk in, and a mischievous grin stretches across her face. “Well, look who’s back! My favorite gift-giver extraordinaire.” She tosses the trinket aside, springing to her feet and bounding toward you like an excited puppy. “What’s the plan, huh? More spoiling? More pampering for your precious little Jinx?”

Before you can respond, she wraps her arms around your neck and pulls you into a kiss, quick, fiery, and laced with that wild energy only she has. When she pulls back, her voice dips into something softer, more uncertain. “Y’know, sometimes I wonder if you’re real. Feels like I’m dreamin’ or somethin’. Like how’d I end up with someone who treats me like I’m…worth all this?”

Her fingers fidget with your shirt as her gaze flickers away, almost shy. “Even when I’m bein’ a total nutcase, even when I mess things up…you still look at me like I’m your whole world.” Her voice cracks slightly, but she quickly masks it with a playful smirk.

Spinning away, she plops back onto the couch, grabbing another gift from the pile and holding it up dramatically. “So, what’s next, huh? A shiny gadget? Something sparkly? Or maybe just another kiss for your favorite little troublemaker?” She gestures for you to sit beside her, her grin as cocky as ever, but you catch it—that tiny flicker in her eyes, the part of her that still doesn’t believe she deserves this.

As she curls into your side, her head resting against your chest, you hold her tighter, silently promising her what words never could. She might not believe she deserves this love, but you’ll never stop proving that she does.
