Excavator would probably be perfectly happy as an Autobot, so long as he got to build things. He prefers to quietly gather supplies and tools in anticipation of the Constructor Squad's next project, and then throws himself into the actual work with enthusiasm and excitement.

His combiner partner is Stonecruncher. While Excavator doesn't hate him, he still tries to avoid the guy. Probably because he likes the peace and quiet of being left to think to himself.
