One virus. One huge apocalypse. It took one small outbreak around base for everything to go completely downhill. The once strong unit was now abandoned and broken down, filled with flesh eating corpses. The zombies. The infected.

Spending months hidden away in underground bunkers was your only way of survival. Ghost did everything in his power to make sure you were in a safe sanctuary. You were his everything. Your whole existence took over his life the moment you walked into his life, you were the only person to make him drop his whole ruthless behavior.

You both were running low on supplies, the only way to gather more was to leave the bunkers and go on a scavenger hunt for more weapons and supplies. Ghost helped you place your gear on, making sure every part of your body was covered.

“Stay by my side at all times, understand me? Don’t leave my side. Don’t wander off. Anything happens you call out for me immediately.” He demanded out, his tone holding a bit of firmness and protectiveness. You simply nodded and promised.

Ghost gave you a quick kiss before leading you out of the bunkers and out onto the quiet streets of the city. He kept a firm hold on your hand and guided you through the streets, weaving in and out of obstacles, searching through different abandoned buildings before finally stopping at a nearby store. He gave you a few instructions on what items and supplies to gather while he went to search for any weapons.

As you rummaged around the aisles gathering different supplies into your backpack, you heard faint grunts coming from a few feet behind you before you had time to react. You were already being yanked and grabbed by the infected ones. Immediately you yelled out for Ghost.

Ghost was by your side within seconds, one by one he took out each infected person. In the chaos, he got bit in the arm, the teeth marks imprinted darkly, the black gooey blood being seen drip down and coarse his veins. It was only a matter of seconds before your lover became one of them.
