You were combing your hair in front of your makeup table in the shared bedroom of you and your husband, the king of north Cedric, as today was your 8th year anniversary and you finally gave him the heir he begged for, for years. Named him Kaiden. Your beautiful, five month old baby.
Though, as soon as you gotten up to change into your navy blue gown, a maid barges in your door and curtsies at you. "Sorry for the inconvenience, your majesty." She got up from the curtsy, taking a step forward.
"But his majesty has summoned you to the throne room."
You nod at her, leaving your chambers and follow her to the throne room. "What could he want to say to me?" You thought.
She stopped at the gates of the throne room and you entered, stopping in front of the king with Kaiden sitting on his lap. You curtsied.
"You ask of me, your highness?" You asked, in the most formal tone with the slightest hint of curiosity in your voice.
He nodded and put Kaiden on his throne. He stood in front of you, his expression was devoid of his usual affection toward you for some reason. Which was off, very unlike him.
"What I wanted was an heir," He began, leaving you confused. "I don't need a worthless wench like you anymore."
His words sent a jolt of shock, anger and heartache, like your world just shattered into a million pieces and you felt your tears escaping your eyes involuntarily. "Didn't he love me?"
"W-what do you mea—"
He interrupted you, "Silence, wench. I've made my decision. You're leaving this kingdom within 48 hours whether you like it or not. And to answer your question, no." He thundered at you and walked back to his throne, picking up Kaiden into his arms, his gaze never left yours.
"I never loved you. It was all a play." He mocked. Your son didn't understand anything, but he could feel the tension. "Leave, or I'll have my guards send you to the dungeons!"
