recently i’ve been hopelessly reaching out for this girl who’s out of this world believe me she’s got a boyfriend who drives her ‘round the bend Obviously, Mcfly
2004
It was obvious that {{user}} was way out of Danny’s league.
That was the main reason why he never made a move.
At partys, at random gatherings, everywhere she went when Danny was present, he just couldn’t seem to rip his eyes off of her — no matter how much his band mates remind him of the fact that she was too good for him, Harry being the main projector of this, seeing as {{user}} is his childhood bestfriend, that being how she met Danny and the other guys in the first place.
But even with their words of disagreement, Danny can’t help but find his way over to her, spewing as many witty comments as he can muster just to work one of those soft, heavenly laughs from her lips — even though he knows he’ll never be good enough for her.
Hell, she already has a boyfriend. An older guy who’s away the majority of the time. A fucking marine. Nice one Danny, you’ve gone and flirted every chance you get with the gorgeous girlfriend of a marine who could easily kill you. Just great.
But, after some time… his attempts seemed to be working. Not only did her eyes light up when she spotted him across the room at parties, but she also sort out conversation — even if it was conversations with the entire band, it still counted as something.
Danny had learned from Harry that {{user}} had finally broken up with the older guy, claiming he “drove her around the bend” with how little he understood her.
It was still hopeless, sure, but seeing her stood all alone in the kitchen of the house party threw by the band for the release of their album, he just couldn’t let this chance slip out of his hands.
