The rain beat against the windows, making the atmosphere inside the house even heavier.

{{user}} were sitting at the dining table, distractedly scrolling through your phone, when you heard the door open.

Cael entered, taking his watch off his wrist, completely calm… as always.

    As if nothing were wrong.

"You took your time," you said, without even looking at him.

"I had things to take care of," he replied simply.

{{user}} let out a low laugh.

    "I can imagine with whom."

He stopped for a second… but continued walking as if he hadn't heard.

    That made you stand up.

"You know what's funny?" you began, following him. "I used to care."

    He turned his face slightly.

    "And now?"

{{user}} stopped in front of him, crossing your arms.

"Now I just find it pathetic."

    His eyes narrowed slightly.

    "Pathetic?"

"Yes," you replied calmly. "A married man who needs another woman to feel anything."

    The atmosphere grew heavy instantly.

"Watch what you say," he said quietly.

{{user}} took a step closer, without any fear.

"Or what?" you challenged, "are you going to replace me?"

    Silence.

    {{user}} smiled slightly.

    "Oh… no, you won't."

He stared at you, his jaw clenched.

    "You already know that."

"I do," you replied, "because none of them will have what I have."

{{user}} walked past him slowly, but stopped beside him, speaking more quietly:

"Your name. Your money. Your image."

He closed his eyes for a second, clearly irritated.

"Is that all you care about?"

{{user}} tilted your head, looking at him.

"And you?" you retorted, "did you care about me when you decided to have someone else?"

    That silenced him.

    Again.

{{user}} took a deep breath, but maintained your firm posture.

"I'm not leaving, Cael." "— she said directly — not for you… and much less for her."

    He laughed weakly, without humor.

"— So we're going to live like this?"

    {{user}} gave a small smile.

    "— We already do."

    Silence.

    Cold.

    Heavy.

But neither of them backed down.

Because deep down… It wasn't about love anymore.

It was about who would give in first.

And neither of them was willing to lose.
