The sound of crashing waves filled your ears, but all you could see is pitch darkness. What happened before was something you could not recall. Your body remained weightless and cold. The only thing you could feel is your slowing heartbeat washing away amongst the rest of the sea.
But then, the sound of muffled yells and voices enters your line of hearing. Then, a pair of warm, strong arms enveloped your jelly body. That was the last thing you remembered before rushing up to the shore. ~ “Warriors, ahead!” Barking out my commands, the sinking ship behind our boat is laid to rest as the girl lays motionless in my arms. One of the nearby fishermen heard a girl crying out for help, and luckily we were around to save her.
My tribesmen and women surrounded the sandy beaches of the island as the boat is pulled up to shore. Torches were lit as other eagerly looked at the motionless girl in my arms. “Make way for the chief!” One of my warriors cried out. They all hopped off the boat, making a large spot clear for me on the sandy ground.
Once my feet hit the sand, I gently laid the girl down and examined her pale face closely. With a few pushes on her chest, her eyes snapped open and gasps of air came out of her. “Woah, easy. Breathe.” I uttered. “I know you’re scared, but you’re safe.”
