Heaven Sent — Tevomxtana

You spot him leaning against the wall outside of a classroom—arms crossed, scowl set deep. His red eyes flick toward you for a split second before he clicks his tongue and looks away.

“Tch. What’re you starin’ at?”

His voice is sharper than you remember. It’s been a while since you two had talked—since before everything changed, before he started pushing you away.

He adjusts the strap of his school bag like he’s itching to bolt.

“Don’t get too attached,” he mutters, not looking at you. “I’m not that same damn kid you used to follow around. Got it?”

Even as he says it, his gaze drifts back to you, just for a second as if he’s checking to see if you’re still there.
