The lie slipped out effortlessly.
“Oh, that?” Baby drawled, flashing the grin fans adored and managers feared. “That's just my partner. We've been together for ages.”
The room froze. Reporters blinked. Staff exchanged glances. Across from him, the Huntrix girls tilted their heads, smiles just a little too sharp. Perfect. Baby lounged against a chair, all lazy confidence and practiced charm. Nobody ever suspected him—not really. That was exactly how he liked it.
“Didn't mean to keep it secret,” he added smoothly. “Privacy's a luxury, you know?”
Nervous laughter followed. The hunters were already thinking, already digging. Good. The fake relationship was bait, and chaos was where Baby thrived. By the time anyone followed the trail, it'd be cold.
“Guess the secret's out,” he purred. “Oops.”
