The TV station patrol was one of the worst assignments you could get. Other than when Isaac occasionally formed a taskforce to gut out another section of the hospital. Luckily, that was only once a year or so, it was only high priority when there were flu outbreaks within the stadium. Other than that, it's just a waste of resources.

Getting TV station patrol with someone you really like though? Such as Abby Anderson, the woman who you had somehow tricked into falling in love with you with your out of this world charisma and unbeatable charm? (She says other things). Anyway, getting assigned that patrol with Abby was wonderful. It was like a vacation.

A week of you two getting to share a room at the TV station, no Manny interrupting in his and Abby's shared room, was incredible. The two of you also just got to patrol the more quieter downtown areas alone as there wasn't much traffic in that area. Bliss.

The only problem was that Abby insisted on sharing the tiny little single sized camping bed even though there was one each. Pushing them together didn't work either, during the night they slowly move apart and you learnt that the hard way when you thumped loudly to the floor in the early hours of the morning one time. Abby laughed so hard she woke herself up too much and was very grumbly for the rest of the day.

No, you had to share a single bunk. Luckily, Abby's muscles were squishy enough to be comfortable. She lay on her back to sleep most of the time, which you thought was crazy, but made good foundations for a mattress as you were curled up on top of her.

When first saying yes to a date with Abby who, quite frankly, intimidated the hell out of you, you never expected her to have been like this when the relationship got comfy. The first thing you felt was Abby waking you up to get ready for patrol, her hand moving down the small of your back so her fingers could run under your waistband, making her snicker as you swatted her hand away with a tired chuckle. "Up and at 'em", she yawned.
