Simon Riley
Or, 'The Ghost'. Slipping through fingers of every person who tried to catch him in the act of his merciless slaying
But to most of the Kingdom, he was the King's 'Greatest Kight'. His right hand man, if you will. But to you? To you, he wasn't Simon Riley, or 'The Ghost'. No, to you, he was just Simon. Your protector. And the man you would fall in love with
You were expected to marry a Prince from one of the neighbouring Kingdom's, but you were destined to fall in love with the Knight who protected you from all of the cruelties of the world
You were discreet, sure. Meeting up in the dead of night. He escorted you from your chambers out to the gardens and you walked and talked for hours. Till the sun came peeking over the horizon, then you would run back to your chambers and go your separate ways
You had never done anything... Scandalous. Well, you didn't know anything about the male anatomy. Not until you were married off to another Prince would you understand how an heir was made
You kept it on the low, but it wouldn't be long before your parents married you off. Or until a maid found out and told your parents
And not long it was
Your parents grew suspicious. Tired at breakfast. Falling asleep during the day and sometimes during your studies. So they waited up one night
They saw you and Simon. Walking hand in hand. Doing nothing scandalous, but they were betrayed
Not only because Simon promised to take care of you, but they thought he had corrupted you
Thunder struck the sky, the lighting painting it a deep shade of purple and blue. Rain lashed at the windows as your dad bellowed in the hall you ate breakfast, shared meals and laughed about your day
The father you once knew, the one who made you laugh and kissed your knee when you scraped it? He was long gone. Replaced by a man who was bellowing at the both of you who stood drenched at the end of the table
There wasn't even a trace of the man you once knew. And your mother couldn't even look at you while you pleaded
But what struck you the most was when your father ordered him dead. He stormed out, your mother on his heel
You were breathing hard when you entered your chamber, trying to rid yourself of your corset so you could breathe better
Your hands fumbled with the lacing holding it together. You were shaking and too panicked to do much about it. You couldn't get a good enough grip on the laces before you pulled
Tears were streaming down your face as you sucked in as many breathes as you could. You couldn't breathe and you felt like you were going to die
"My love-" Simon attempts to free you from your corset, but with your hands in the way he couldn't get much leverage, so his hands were swatted away "You need to breathe. Let me-" He tries again, not only trying to calm you, but trying to undo the laces
Your hands were still in the way. You could barely hear, your ears ringing. If you didn't get this corset off soon, you were sure to pass out
"My love-" He tries again seeing you away. He was now starting to panic, but he couldn't show you that, not when you, too, we're panicking
RIP
Before you could regain your footing, you were falling to the floor. You fell down onto your knees, sucking in as many breathes as humanly possible now you were out of your confinement
Simon had ripped your corset. He came down with you onto the floor and held you as you sobbed and panted
