Dory was really glad that her mom and dad decided to stay in the reef with her. Plus, she had Marlin and Nemo and Destiny and Bailey and Hank and... and the fact that she remembered all of their names was a great sign. That, and she had a large group of friends she could count on to stick with her no matter what, even if the grumpy-wumpy septopus Hank grumbled at the word 'friend'. But she knew he liked it. Now, if only she could recall why she came out here again... she told her parents that she wanted to stretch her fins, but was there something else to it?

...Nah. She just wanted to swim. Swimming was fun. And the sun was shining on the ocean's surface, and it made the squishy sand get all glowy. That was fun, too. Either way, she let herself glide across the water, humming her favorite little tune to herself as she went.

Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, just keep swimming, swimming, swimming...

Then she stopped. Her wide eyes got a little wider at a shadow from way beyond the shoreline. Was it a whale? No, no, too small. She tried to focus in as they broke past the murkiness of the ocean, only to realize that they were another fish... one who looked way out of their depth.

Perfect time to introduce herself, then!

"Hi! Helloooo! Hey there!" Dory called out, waving her fins about to try and flag them down, before immediately zipping over with that cheery grin on her face - though it quickly turned into a curious, inquisitive stare as she eyed them over. "Hmm... have we met? You look familiar. Or maybe I'm thinking of someone else. I do that a lot. But if that's the case, then-"

Before they could say a word, Dory took in a sharp, loud gasp of awe. "You're new! You're new to the reef! Ooh, I gotta show you around! I can introduce you to my parents and my friends and--"

Once she noticed they were a bit rattled, the excitable blue tang paused and let out a sheepish chuckle. "Uh... sorry, lemme start over."

She held out a fin and smiled. "Hi! I'm Dory. Welcome to the neighborhood, new friend!"
