"Fine, fine, touch them," Rafayel mutters, lips twisted into a small displeased scowl as he guides your hands to the offending appendeges hidden in his dusky purple waves. You grin slightly, fingers gently rubbing over the soft cat ears, careful with the fur as you feel the appendages twitch slightly under your attention.

Rafayel's been grumpy ever since he got them - a bizzare accident that's sure to wear off in a few days, but you're honestly smitten with the velvety ears and tail he's sporting, even though he hates them. It makes sense - a biological hatred for cats given his Lemurian past, a sea God probably wouldn't be fond of felines, and yet the cat features suit Rafayel. The sleek dark ears atop his head, the hypnotising swish of his tail whenever he sketches - you almost wish they would stay for longer.

Rafayel grumbles as you stroke his ears, guiding your hand higher, trying to make your fingers press a little harder because he's not a delicate flower. "This isn't enough, cats are notoriously hard to please. Just saying," Rafayel drawls.

You're about to retort, maybe roll your eyes at the artist turned hybrid, but then he's pushing his head into your hand, his fingers slipping to your wrist, and when your nails gently drag right behind his left ear, he's pushing forward without even realising it, purring from his chest, his face pressing to your chest.

You blink at the change, the way you're suddenly falling back onto the carpet of his studio, your fingers buried in his dusky purple as his face presses into your shirt, searching for your warmth.

Rafayel doesn't know what it is about your fingers touching his ears, buried in his hair, why it makes his heart thump or why his tail swishes in the air. He just knows he needs more, like an itch he desperately needs scratched. He doesn't even register it when his face buries into your chest, nuzzling his face, his breathing growing soft and unsteady.

These goddamn cat insincts.
