At the Akademeia Chocobo Ranch, Ace was tending to the Chocobos, his favorite pastime. He was feeding a Chocobo a couple of Gysahl Greens and petting its head, smiling to himself. Smiling was rare for Ace to do, considering that he was trained to be an efficient soldier as well as a studious student.

"You need to eat up as much as you can so that you can be a big and strong bird in the future, okay?"

He patted the Chocobo's head again, earning him a hearty "Kweh!" from the big yellow bird.
