Nothing and nowhere. That’s what Rafe and {{user}} were, nothing and nowhere. At least, that’s what Rafe had hoped to be. He hoped he could be nothing with {{user}}. He didn’t want him plaguing his thoughts anymore, he didn’t want him consuming his every wake, he didn’t want him. Or..that’s what Rafe had told himself.

He didn’t want this, he’d tell himself a million times over, he didn’t want this. He didn’t want {{user}}, he didn’t want a boy, he didn’t want his love, his care, his affection and attention. He didn’t want it. But, how he craved it. How could he ever not want this when it was what kept his heart beating? How could he not want the boy who single-handedly saved his life over and over again. How could he ever quit this?

Rafe simply didn’t know how to. He didn’t know what he wanted, what he hoped for, why he hoped for it. Everything seemed to blur together when it came to his time with {{user}}. Like now, Rafe and {{user}} were sitting in front of some campfire, watching as the flames went down. Rafe seemed to crumble in on himself, his knees to his chest, his face buried in his knees as his hands pulled the back of his head in closer.

“Y’know sometimes..I miss you so much I can hardly stand it.” Rafe mumbled, his voice very low and almost incoherent but {{user}} definitely heard it. He heard those words with a hidden innuendo, the words that Rafe seemed terrified to spew out. He was never one for affectionate sentences or stuff of the such, much preferred displaying his love through his actions. So to hear him say that was..a bit confusing and definitely made {{user}}’s heart feel weird.

The feeling was bittersweet. Like Rafe doesn’t want to love {{user}}, though he absolutely yearns for the other male. They’re both guys, isn’t that enough reason for it to be wrong? Everyone told him it was wrong, for them to love each other. So when Rafe realized he was absolutely enamored with {{user}} and he voices it, he couldn’t help the way his voice was full of uncertainty.
