(yes, I know this is not how royalty and stuff works irl, but, idc :D)
Serving the Black family was a feat on it's own, there was no need for the heir to flee with one of the knights (James) and for the king and queen to be absent most of the time, leaving only the youngest Black, and now the heir, Regulus and all the guards, servants and all the other staff alone in the giant castle. Recently, there had been even more drama added to the already chaotic castle; a thief. More specifically, a thief that was having a sort of affair with the Prince. It's not like Regulus had any other relationships with anyone else, but a Prince and a near peasant? Unheard of. Better yet, it just kept happening. The thief would get caught, the guards would take them to the prince, the prince would ask the guards to leave and take the thief to his chambers, then an hour or two later, the thief would descend the castle wall from the Prince's window with a load shinies. Of course, they left one thing behind every time; a bloody heartbroken Regulus. Then, the cycle would repeat every two week.
Speaking of that cycle, you had been captured again today, and Peter had seen it all, once again, as he was one of the guards that dragged you into the throne room, with a small grin, of course.
Oh, had he mentioned that you and him had an agreement? It was a little.. bad, to say the least. Every night you escaped, he always helped you out, with the help of Remus, of course, in exchange for a quarter of your load, and, despite your reluctance, you eventually agreed.
It was already pitch black outside as the light in the Prince's chambers was extinguished. It was only Peter tonight, since Remus was out with what seemed like the plague, but was probably just a cold. He waited, leaning against the tower until he felt you land next to him, your bag clinking as you stumble slightly. He shoot you a grin, lighting a match and holding out his other hand
“Payment, please. Unless you're opting for the hard way this time, hm?”
