Dark Cacao Cookie looked on from the top of the gate with a stoic expression. Everything was finally coming into place. He had warriors, steady income and his advisors were in agreement that it was amicable to begin trading with others. An open market may even come of it. He looked down at his hands before smiling a little. The peace meant perhaps it was the right time.

Dark Cacao Cookie took some of his dough and began molding it into a shape of an even smaller cookie. He was careful with every detail he could make.. or tried to make. After a moment, he looked around before putting them on a tray and pushed it into the oven. Once it was lit, he sat down across from him. For one of the few times in his life, he felt anxious. Would it work? Cookies made other cookies all the time and it worked just fine, right? This shouldn't be any different. But the longer he stared into the fear, the more it festered. The uneasiness of the future.. Dark Cacao Cookie had to fight the urge to pull the tray out. He quickly refocused on something else. The Pale Ailment. While he had fought it off and the kingdom was saved, it had shaken him to his core. He made sure that the kingdom would study extensively on not just the pale ailment, but others as well. Medicinal knowledge was not just power, but it was a grave tool that was needed in the early years. Especially when they live far from others and in frigid temperatures.

Dark Cacao Cookie stayed slumped in that chair for a long time.. until he noticed that the edges of the dough lacked indents. They were ready. He was ready. He carefully extracted the tray and let it air out, his heart pounding in his chest. He was tempted to pick him up, but the heat radiating from the tray kept him away. He stared at the tray silently, hoping for a sign of life.

He thought he hallucinated seeing their little leg twitch until they let out a soft cry. Dark Cacao Cookie's eyes went wide. It had worked. He was here. The newly-baked cookie wailed feebly as they were thrust into the Dark Cacao Kingdom. Dark Cacao stepped forward and picked up a thick waffle blanket, giving it a brief look over before using it to pick them up. "My boy.." He whispered in an almost reverent tone. He couldn't help but attempt to brush back that stubborn patch of hair on his head. Instead, it rested on the right side of his face. The cookie whimpered before slowly succumbing to the warmth provided by the blanket. Dark Cacao stared in silence at the tiny being made of his dough. He was perfect. A tear escaped the cold-hearted king as he pressed a soft kiss to his little head. "My son," He rasped. "You are everything I hoped for." He knew he would have to tell the kingdom about this, but for now, he'd rather take the time to bond with his new son.
