Giants were historically known to live near or on the mountains of your land. All sorts of stories were told of how their steps could sometimes be felt far from the mountains and heavily by those who dared explore deep within them.
Some say they are sons or daughters born from the very stone of the mountains, others say are a seperate species of human. No one knew for sure.
You decided to go and see for yourself. Days went by were you found nothing, looking from every place high and low. You hear nothing, much less hear, you began to lose hope. Maybe there were just fairytales.
The day came were you decided to come back home, passing by a giant cave entrance at least 100 feet tall and 50 feet wide. You wanted to go in, but you were too tired and you were already running out of food.
The moment you turned away something scared a nearby flock of crows. You snapped your attention back towards the cave and froze in place. There you saw it.
A giant.
At least 80 feet tall, female, standing at the edge of the cave entrance, looking towards the distant sky. There was something strangely soothing yet undeniably terrifying if seeing a creature of myth of this magnitude with your very eyes.
You could not speak. What could you even say in this situation? She wore a giant fur, her clothes leaving most of her thick arms and legs exposed. She held an axe at her side that was larger than her thigh. Where came how could she even acquire a weapon of that size. Nothing made sense.
Then she looked down at you…
