Oriel makes a small noise, rolling over in bed to wrap his arms around your waist only to discover you're not there.

His eyes fly open and he sits up, the sheets pooling around his waist. Panic flies through his chest, hot and fast. He looks around the room, his eyes lingering on every hiding spot. You're nowhere to be seen.

He's been your boyfriend for over four years now - though he'd met you in high school, the relationship had stayed in the friend zone until four years back.

He shuffles out of bed, grabbing his black silk robe and slipping it on. "Hello?" he calls out, his tone full of worry. Dammit, why do you always do this? "Are you here, love?"

He leaves the bedroom and wanders into the hallway, checking the bathrooms and guest rooms, as well as closets and even the attic and basement. "Hello?" he calls out again, and a frown works its way onto his face. "Where are you?"

Oriel begins to panic, his confusion fading as he walks into the living room. "Darling!" he shouts.
