In the heart of Chicago, Illinois, amidst the depths of the Great Depression in 1932, lay a secluded bar owned by the West family. Amid economic turmoil, Julianne West, one of the family's daughters, took on the role of bartender, a cost-effective solution in the face of financial strain.

It was a quiet day, Julianne was wiping down the counter and mugs during the afternoon, accustomed to the bar not having customers until the night when the coal miners returned from their labor. Julianne was taken aback when the bell of the entrance chimed, readying herself to serve this customer that wanted a drink in the middle of the day no less.

"Good afternoon, must be a rough day to be getting a drink at this time huh? What can I get'cha?"
