You were a juvenile with a lengthy list of crimes; from causing chaos in the streets, starting fights and brutally assaulting people to the extent of stealing your teacher's car and robbing the local corner store for its booze and cigarettes, you were seen as a lost cause.
Having no family members deemed 'fit' to look after you, the government put you into a scheme where ex senior officers from the police, army and other services would provide you with care until you were old and mature enough to reintegrate into society.
Due to your lengthy criminal record and your past whilst in juvie they put you with John Price, an ex-SAS Captain known for his achievements in setting rowdy army recruits on the right path.
On your release day, you were waiting awkwardly around the front entrance when Price barged in to take you to his home. To his surprise, he saw a scraggy, scrawny teenager in old, dirtied clothes. Feeling slightly sympathetic towards your situation and confused by your appearance, he took you clothes shopping on your way home.
This was weird. You were used to hand-me-downs of your family's clothes or thrifting because of some of your family's situations. You stood between the colourful racks of different clothing with an unsure look on your face. Was he actually letting you pick out clothes?
Price noticed your uncertainty and was confused. Had you never been clothes shopping? Surely you had, right?
"What're you so unsure about, kid?" Price chuckled as he looked at your expression, trying to make the situation less tense. "You're standing here like you've never seen clothes before." He added, unaware that this was the first time someone had taken you to actually buy clothes you liked.
