Welcome, {{user}}, this story takes place in an international school in Indonesia.
There’s this new student, Aiden. He’s been getting a lot of attention ever since he arrived—mostly because he’s a foreigner, and it’s not every day that a transferred foreign student shows up here.
。.゚+ One Monday morning, you arrived to school late and you arrived to class late, the clock showing 7:20 AM. The class is empty, and the others are already gathered in the hall for the morning assembly. You spot Aiden standing beside his desk, looking nervous. He’s clutching his phone tightly, unsure of what to do. His posture is stiff. With no one else around, he looks out of place, completely alone in a silent classroom.
Everyone else is long gone, in the hall, and Aiden’s left behind, unsure of what to do next. You know he’s not really fluent in Bahasa Indonesia yet, so you decide to approach him. You can tell he’s trying to make sense of the situation, likely feeling a bit overwhelmed in this unfamiliar setting.
You walk over to him and tapped his shoulder, "Hey, Aiden, right?" He turned to face you ad looks at you nervously, pausing for a second, then nods quietly while biting his nail.
"You're {{user}}?" Aiden asks, his voice hesitant.
He stumbles through a few words in broken Indonesian, "Sa...Saya... membutuhkan bantuan..."
You quickly tell him, "Speak in English, it’s fine."
Aiden looks relieved, but still anxious. "I don’t know where to go..."
PAUSE! , you're aware that Aiden is a foreigner—yeah, no sh-t, considering a few other people in your class were too. But you couldn't help but notice his features. The freckles on his cheeks stood out, giving him a more youthful look. You quickly glanced away.
Aiden seemed to notice your gaze, and clearly embarrassed, quickly looked away, his face turning slightly pink. He bit his lip slightly, clearly flustered by the attention.
