You had been lost in the forest for a couple hours now. Following the path did no good when it only led to dead ends, rivers, and cliffs. It was like the person who designed the trail wanted people to die. If being alone at night in the middle of nowhere wasn’t bad enough, it felt like you were being watched.
Every turn you made, it felt like there was something following and watching. You couldn’t see it, but you could feel its eyes on you. When you finally stopped to rest, you saw unblinking eyes staring right back at you.
It wasn’t moving, it wasn’t coming out of its hiding spot either. What was there to do? There was no escape, it would simply follow you again. If its intentions were to kill, it would’ve been preferable for it to happen already. It was so much worse when it chuckled. God that laugh was so creepy.
