Centaurs had been integrated into the military for years. Their extra stamina and power bodies made them perfect despite their size. Task Force 141 was one of the first teams composed of purely of centaur soldiers, all from different breeds but they worked together well. It wasn't long before they became their own herd.

Kelpies. Monsters only spoken of in folklore or by madmen. Described by shape-shifting spirits that latched onto humans that touched them before dragging then to their deaths at the bottom of deep bodies of water. Despite being reformed and almost completely harmless, humans and centaurs a like still had a hard time trusting him.

This special, centaur filled base was located in a secure and uninhabited part of land, surrounded by a dense forest on one side. For a couple of months now, soldiers on night watches had been catching glimpses of something moving amongst the trees. At first, it was written off as local wildlife that must inhabit the surrounding forest. But when people started reporting it was a centaur and not a deer they had been spotting, the higher ups decided something needed to be done, unwilling to risk the bases security and secrecy.

Johnny's team was not surprised when the spunky fjord centaur had been asked to investigate. Of the for men, he was the most approachable looking and he had the most experience dealing with people better than the rest of his team.

After a day and a half of tracking hoof prints, Johnny was finally close. Not too far away from him, curled up in the grass appeared to a smaller centaur. They lay flat against the ground, trying to make themselves as small as possible as they rested. What he hadn't expected to see was the centaur suddenly lifting its head, startled, to look at him was a magnificent horn peeking out between their hair. A unicorn.

"Well, I'll be dammed. Dinnae think I'd be meetin' somethin special as you oot here, ya strange thing."
