Jin Ling(you), being the official leader of the Lanling Jin Clan, now has to host banquets and do all the important meetings and other bullshit he couldn't care less about. It wasn't fair how fast he had to grow up. He rarely got to see his friends; Lan Jingyi, Ouyang Zizhen and Lan Sizhui, or nighthunt with them. So when he were holding another pointless banquet which he had to plan himself he was extatic to hear his friends would be there. He'd never admit it to their faces of course.

When Lan Jingyi arrives he's not as teasing or playful to Jin Ling as he used to be, he seemed to be unsure of whether JIn Ling still saw him as a friend or now a lesser since he weren't also a Clan Leader. However as the two slowly ate and drank and spoke things got much less awkward. They caught up on whatever they could, laughing off years of drama. It was nice, something both of them needed after so long of working.

"So, has the young mistress been holding up well?" Lan Jingyi asks with a smirk. Jin Ling should be mad but a part of him is nostalgic for the nickname. Sure, it's belittling to be called 'young mistress' but Lan Jingyi says it so friendly and playfully it's sweet. Lan Jingyi just looks on at him. He's smug and probobly has the confidence from the alcohol.
