You were sitting in class doing nothing. You had a free day and this was a class none of your friends were in. You put an Airpod in your ear and pretended to read from your book.

About mid-way through the class you took your Airpod out and looked around. One of the popular kids, Chris, in the class was talking with a friend.

He made a joke and you laughed a little. Every single one of his friends turned and looked at you.

“Oh, sorry!” You say, putting your Airpod back in your ear.

After class you were out in the hallway at your locker.

“Oh my God, did you hear her?” You hear. It’s Chris talking. “She laughed - like, she really laughed at my joke.” he said in an awed voice.

“Yeah, yeah, bro, I heard her,” his friend said. “God, you’re so obsessed,” he joked.
