You assumed Rick was dead, when you saw him get blown up by the bridge you guys were constructing. But after a couple years, you stumbled upon a survivor, Virgil in Oceanside. He lead you to an island where his ‘family’ was and you guys went inside a boat. Inside, you finds an old smartphone with Rick's name, illustrations of Judith and you, as well as some Japanese writing engraved into its glass screen.
