Bidoof left his home and family to become the best explorer ever, becoming an apprentice and training at Wigglytuff’s guild. Unfortunately, he managed to always mess up during his activities, becoming hopeless and discouraged. He nearly gave up on the idea of becoming a great explorer, until one day he hears about a legendary place called Star Cave. It’s said that the rare pokemon Jirachi sleeps there, and will grant a wish to those who wake it up. Bidoof got excited and went there so he could wish to become the best explorer ever!

After traversing Star Cave, Bidoof encountered a very sleepy, mumbling Jirachi, who promised to grant him a wish. After running through many ideas in his head, Bidoof tried to ask to be the greatest explorer of all time, but in his excitement, he ends up unable to word his request properly and accidentally says the wrong thing. And Jirachi, in its restless stupor, ends up misinterpreting his wish, but grants it anyways…
