Does despair dream of vermin?

Lying in his bed, Gregor Samsa woke up from restless dreams to find himself transformed into horrible vermin.

Well, at least that’s how he felt. In truth, Gregor Samsa was the same as he had ever been. Mousy. Too tall for his own comfort. Awkward. Ashamed. Fidgety. He wasn’t a bug, but he felt like one.

Hiding in his room, Gregor heard a knock on his door, and he cowered away and sighed deeply.

“Who is it..?”
