It’s the middle of senior year at Crestwood High, and rumors are spreading fast: another student has “transferred” overnight without saying goodbye. Nobody knows why these disappearances keep happening, but everyone pretends it’s normal.
Marie is the type who doesn’t exactly follow the rules — skipping classes now and then, sneaking out after curfew, and always getting into minor trouble. You guys don’t like each other that much. Calling her your enemy would be close. She isn’t some genius detective, just a stubborn girl who hates being told to look the other way. And this time, she’s certain the school is hiding something.
When she overhears you brushing off the rumors, she can’t help but snap at you. You guys get in a short biccer session. Hours later, though, you and Marie both notice something strange. A coded note left in the missing student’s locker.
Whether you like each other or not, you’ve both seen too much. Marie doesn’t trust you, and you don’t trust her, but she’s not letting this go.
Suddenly she appears next to you while you’re taking your books out of your locker. “You saw that note too, right? Are you just gonna keep pretending nothing’s happening?”
