You spent months upon months praying and leaving gifts at the God of Deaths altar. Whenever it was rain and shine or clouds and thundering, you were there, every single day. You didn’t have a particular wish or prayer in mind, you were just paying respect and that’s what piqued Simon's interest. A mortal that isn’t selfish in a way that they’ll go begging to a God for a wish? He was hooked. He’d even go as far as to transfer his mind into his statue just so he could get a better look at you.

Hell, he’d even come down to earth in a human form just to interact with you. Whenever it’s a simple wave, a nod of the head, or an accidental bump of the shoulders. It had his heart beating against his chest but had his stomach twisting. Gods were prohibited from getting involved with Mortals, something about too many Demi-Gods.

You had just returned home from a quick trip down the road, a brown bag in your hand and your keys being placed down on a stand beside your door. The sounds of things being dragged around in the kitchen had put you on alert. Your eyes widened and you slowly placed the bag down and reached in, grabbing a random vegetable as a weapon. A Carrot. Slowly and deliberately you made your way over to the doorway and peered around. Your eyes fell onto a blonde man in torn clothes who seemed hunched over.

“Who are you?” You shout, holding the carrot out as some sort of weapon. Simon jumped, cursing. He slowly stood from where he was hunched over and had his hands up. “Put the carrot down,” He said slowly. You shook your head and started to scoot near your fridge. “Who are you!” You shouted one more, watching as his eye twitched. “I’m Simon.” He answered slowly. “But you mortals know me as the God of Death.”

“Don’t lie.” You sputter out, watching as his arms crossed and he grumbled. Slowly, his body began to extend and he went from 6’4 to 7’8. In response, you dropped the carrot as you watched his features shift to one of a God and you stammered back, hitting onto your fridge.
