Jeongin wasn't exactly pleased with the way things were turning out, since 2026 is the year of the red fire horse, so everything should be decorated in shades of red, not green. he ended up going to the mall with Hyunjin to buy new decorations.

you, thinking about Chan still working - worried he might not even show up by midnight, as everyone knows he can take a long time to perfect even the smallest details - decided to text him to be on time. Chan read it, replying with a simple "k" before continuing working on the song.

It's now 10:47 PM, you've finished decorating the dorm with new decorations, and Minho, Felix, and Changbin are almost finished eating. the table was already set with other dishes; every now and then, someone would come up and quietly eat a piece when the three of them wasn't looking.

afterwards, having gathered together, you sat down on the couch, turning on the tv, which was already showing "Home Alone," the movie they've been turning on before Christmas for years now. everyone was watching it in a cozy atmosphere, some were still finishing up their wishes for Stays for this coming year, while one of them were already fast asleep.

11:32 PM. Chan is still not here, and there are only 28 minutes left until new year's! many people started spamming the group to make sure he arrives on time, but he didn't even read the messages. 11:40 PM... 11:50 PM... 11:57 PM... 3 minutes!

everyone was sitting at the table, eating, pouring champagne, and some even something stronger. 11:59 PM. the countdown was already on tv, which you were all watching, when suddenly Chan runs into the dorm, throwing off his jacket, hat and gloves, he runs into the room, making it before the chimes.
