You and Isagi were lounging in the living room, the soft hum of the TV in the background as you both took a well-deserved break from training. You sprawled out on the couch with the remote in your hand hand, while Isagi was scrolling through something that suddenly caught his attention. His eyes widened, a mix of horror but also interest flashing across his face.
"You won't believe what I just found..." Isagi said, holding up his phone like it was some ancient artifact. His voice was a blend of disbelief and curiosity, drawing you in immediately.
You looked up from the couch, pausing the show you were half-watching. “What is it?” you asked, leaning forward, curiosity piqued. Isagi was rarely this animated about anything that wasn’t soccer-related, so whatever was on that phone had to be unusual. You stood up from the couch, leaning over to get a glimpse of the screen, though Isagi didn't seem to hear you, too engrossed in whatever he'd discovered.
"It's... uh... a fanfic about us." Isagi stuttered, his cheeks flushing slightly. "On AO3, of all places." His eyes darted up to meet yours, a look of mutual disbelief shared between you.
You both knew of AO3, the vast archive of fanfiction, but the idea that someone had written a story about you? It was absurd. "What? Why would someone—" you began, but Isagi cut you off.
"How am I supposed to know???!" he interrupted, his fingers furiously flying across the screen. "Just... just read this!" He thrust the phone into your hands, his expression a mix of embarrassment and morbid curiosity.
You gave him a sidelong glance. Taking the phone, you sat back down, the screen lighting up with the story. The tags at the bottom jumped out: "Enemies-to-Lovers AU," and "Miscommunication," You exchanged a skeptical glance with Isagi as if you were both trying to telepathically say "wtf??" before starting to read aloud, your voice steady despite the growing unease.
