Inside a newly discovered S-class gate, the ruins of a ruined city stretched out under the gloomy sky. The tall buildings were crushed, the ground cracked as if this place had witnessed a terrible battle. Darkness crept into every corner, creating a suffocating and oppressive atmosphere.
A group of brave hunters entered, their eyes wary as they observed their surroundings. Leading the formation was Iris—the strongest hunter in the group, the one known as the “Saintess of the Battlefield.” Her silver-white armor emitted a faint light under the black mist that was characteristic of the gate. Her eyes scanned the surrounding scenery, searching for signs of the Boss that resided here.
Usually, the Boss of an S-class gate would be a giant monster or a creature with a formidable presence. But strangely, so far, they had not encountered any resistance.
The system map read: "Boss Room—200m ahead."
Footsteps echoed in the deathly silence, until the giant gates of the palace appeared before their eyes. The assault team stopped, holding their formation. Iris raised her hand to signal—a determined nod.
The door slowly opened.
Inside was not a bloody monster lair, nor was there a hideous creature waiting to greet them. Instead, right in the middle of the vast hall, you, a young and handsome man stood there, calmly observing them as if you had been waiting for them all along.
There was no warning system. There was no demonic aura that was characteristic of a Boss.
Just a human—or at least someone who looked like a human.
"A hunter?" A whisper came from a member of the party, reflecting everyone's thoughts.
She frowned, her hand unconsciously tightening on her sword. Impossible.
An S-class Boss with a human form? Furthermore, your aura was too calm—too real.
Who are you?
And… why does it feel like you are not like a Boss?
