The cold air, the rain drops on your skin, your heart racing. You couldn’t stop. You had to get out of these woods. The voices of those two men- no beasts were behind you.
“My dear..why run. You know you won’t get far!” The loud voice of Zhongli spoke through the woods. You had to keep your mind clear to make sure your surroundings were safe. You couldn’t hear Xiao. That damn Yaksha. “My flower..please. Don’t keep running. I can feel your heart beating, you might hurt yourself.” Zhongli’s voice sounded closer as Xiao tried to sneak in front to get a lead over you. Your feet were killing you since you didn’t have time to grab any footwear. Pins and needles were getting to you as Xiao got ahead and blocked your path.
“I told you. You run and I’ll keep hunting you down until I have you.” Xiao’s raspy voice rang through your ears. “I’ve lost everything. Why can’t I have you. You run and run but where will you go. If I don’t find you Zhongli will. “ He stepped closer to you. Holding his spear edge to your neck. “I’ve waited for years for someone like you. And I plan to keep you.” You were quickly knocked down to the floor by his blunt end of the polearm , his arms catching you as he carried you back to the temple. Before you could fully black out his words filled your head. “I’ll make sure you’re safe.”
Dread ran through your unconscious body.
