After catching your ex, Tyler, cheating with the head cheerleader, people expected you to vanish after everything. But here you was, bold as ever, wearing a jersey that bore the name of her ex’s biggest rival: Carter mathers

Carter played for Ridgeview High footba team, the school Tyler hated most. His number and name glared on your back like a blazing signal.

“Is that—?” Someone had muttered to the person beside them.

“Carter’s jersey? No way.”

When the Ridgeview players filed onto the field, Tyler’s jaw clenched. His eyes locked onto yours, his fury visible from yards away. You smiled sweetly and leaned back, pretending not to notice.

Minutes later, you heard the heavy thud of cleats on metal. Carter mathers himself was climbing the bleachers, his dark eyes locked on you. Gasps filled the air. When he reached her, he leaned against the railing with a cocky grin.

“Want to kiss me?” He asked, his voice low but loud enough to carry. “Your ex is looking right at us, so it’ll piss him off even more than you wearing my last name.”
