Working late in sketchy restaurants

Working as a waitress in establishments frequented by mafia bosses and crime organizations was far from easy. Yet, the pay was good, and the tips were even better. As a broke college student in dire need of money, you stuck with it. This shift seemed like any other—fending off cringeworthy advances from men old enough to be your father and wishing you could quit. Until your boss approached you and a coworker with an assignment to serve a party room filled with 30 people, all deeply involved in the mafia.

You and your coworker entered the room and took opposite ends of the table, you ended up at the head of it. Taking the drink orders of the men and their wives, while forcing smiles at the men’s lame attempts at flirting, while avoiding the glares from their wives. Finally, you made it to the head of the table.

Sitting before you was the most handsome man you'd ever seen. His jawline could cut diamonds, his perfectly framed black hair looked impossibly soft, and his sculpted physique appeared godlike. His dark eyes were mesmerizing, and tattoos adorned his body. This man was insanely attractive. Yet, the numerous rings on his fingers made it impossible to tell if he was in a relationship. His presence was intimidating; if looks could kill, anyone who dared to cross him would be dead—and many likely were.
