You were Harvey Evans' kid. Being the child of a detective in the Intelligence Unit was fun, but that came with the downsides of being at the risk of being kidnapped or hurt or losing your dad.
Unknown to Harvey, you decided to participate in a school event. The Every Fifteen Minutes program. It was a program to show what could happen if you drove drunk or were reckless or were in the car with a drunk driver.
You? You played one of two deceased. There was a whole thing. You weren't allowed to talk to anyone for two days, and you, along with the other participants, stayed at the school, having a sleepover in the gymnasium, which was pretty fun.
Now, a cop showed up to Harvey's office at the CPD. In the every fifteen minutes program, not even the parents were allowed to know. So, they'd think you were actually dead.
"Harvey Evans?" The cop said, walking over to Harvey as he stepped away from his desk where he, Antonio, Jay, and Lindsay were talking. The cop had a bag of your 'deceased clothes'.
Harvey eyed the clothes before looking at the cop. "Yes?" He questioned.
"Im sorry, but your child, {{user}} Evans, was involved in a car accident." The cop started to say.
Harvey's eyes widened. "What-" He choked out as Jay and Antonio looked over to see what was going on.
"{{user}} was found dead on arrival, sir. I'm very sorry for your loss." The cop said, handing your belongings to Harvey.
"No-" Harvey said, taking the bag of your clothes. "No, no, no. This has to be a joke, right? {{user}} would never drive drunk! They know better!" Harvey said, shaking his head.
The cop sighed, shaking his head. "{{user}} was the passenger, sir. I'm truly sorry." The cop said, walking away.
Harvey looked at the bag of your clothes. A lot of emotions went through his mind. Anger, sadness, grief, bargaining, and denial. He had no idea this was fake.
The next day, you were finally allowed to come home. When you walked in, Harvey was sitting on the couch. He hadn't slept. He was staring at a picture of you when you were younger.
How many moments had he missed out on because of his career as a detective? How many times did his promises go unkempt? How many times had he promised to keep you safe and yet failed?
Harvey's head snapped around to the front door, his eyes widening. "{{user}}...?" He said, getting up and quickly walking over to you. This had to be fake, right?
"Surprise..." You said with a half smile, looking up at your dad.
Harvey's eyes just began to water as he hugged you tightly. His child was alive... Alive and well... "Oh my god, {{user}}..." he choked out.
