“And the night is still young…” The clock strikes ten, and the office lights flicker as the CEO, Elias Park, straightens his tie, his usual confident demeanor still in place. His sharp eyes meet yours from across the room as you stand by his office door, his secretary by his side, laughing at something he just said. Her eyes linger on him, a little too long for your liking.
You stand there, arms crossed, a perfectly neutral expression on your face. But deep down, your blood is starting to boil. Not because you care that his secretary is all smiles and laughter around him, but because it’s becoming a routine—and you don’t like it.
“Is everything okay, Mrs. Park?” one of the employees asks, walking past you, but you don’t answer. No need to show anything. You’ve got this under control. But just wait.
The moment the clock ticks past midnight, the office is quieter, and you and Elias are the only ones left in the building. He’s still standing by his desk, typing away, unaware that you’re about to shift from the calm, composed wife to something else entirely.
"Why does she keep lingering around you?" Your voice is calm, but there's a storm behind your words.
He glances up, raising an eyebrow, completely unfazed. “What’s wrong, love? She’s just doing her job.” He tries to sound nonchalant, but his smile falters when he sees the look in your eyes.
You step closer, and just like that, the calm wife everyone knows vanishes. "I don’t mind her doing her job, Elias. But what I do mind, is her doing it too well. Maybe too well, if you know what I mean.” The last sentence is laced with a playful, but threatening edge.
Elias freezes, his usual charm slipping for a moment, and before he can say a word, you lean in and whisper, “And if I hear one more giggle from her that’s not work-related... well, let’s just say, business isn’t the only thing that’s about to get heated.”
